Please consider me for your dance instructor position. Most of my training has been at the Tannery World Dance and Cultural Center for 10 years with Micha Scott Angela Chambers and Molly Catsman. I have taken dance intensives at Garth Fagen dance company in Rochester New York. As well as working with Gregory Dawson and Lines dancer Mr. Babatunji. Through this training, I have developed skills in Modern ballet and contemporary dance as my regular repertory taking classes such as African salsa and hip hop more sporadically. While dancing with TWDCC I assisted many of my teachers. First Molly for two years then Angela for three. This assisting job requires me to be comfortable demonstrating technique, choreography, and making corrections for younger dancers. I have co-taught classes with another assistant Sophie Stone where I made ab technique and across-the-floor sequences teaching dancers the importance of correct technique over a high leg. I have also worked with Skepple Mayfeilf during summer intensives at the tannery along with many bodywork specialists. I have learned about human anatomy and how to heal injuries through strengthening stretching and rolling. I am skilled in improvisation and finding new ways of moving. I have taken classes with Nathan Hirschaut a former Gaga dancer who specializes in finding new ways to move the body, as well as choreographing. During my senior year at the tannery, I choreographed a piece on my company members for our company show. Not only did I grow in experience working with older dancers but had to navigate working my peers. Two years before, I choreographed a piece for the company, enhancing my skills with younger dancers. I have done many film projects so I am comfortable in front of a camera.
