Something I've really struggled with throughout my years of doing art is proportions. I can be a perfectionist sometimes and I tend to get annoyed if my proportions are off even a little bit. So I don't practice them, Within these support pieces, you will find me practicing my proportions. Using a live figure was very helpful when drawing Charles I have only experienced that a couple of times but this was extremely helpful. especially in my most recent piece because I was painting people sitting down which is difficult for me. I want to do a piece with contorted body figures so I tried to practice that as seen above. In the future, I would like to go more in detail with that as well as focusing on perspective and how things look when they are closer to the viewer. Lastly, I focused on realism when drawing the face. This hasn't always been difficult for me. I find realism easier when using graphite however I've been painting a lot this year so I wanted to practice a portrait once again so maybe I can put those skills into my pintaings.
